Community Car Boot Sale
On Saturday 6 April 2013, GBC embarked on a community project, assisting residents at a retirement village with a car boot sale. Adverts were posted throughout the community, inviting people to take up a parking bay at the church, to sell their goods. A minimal fee was charged for each bay. The parking bay fee was generously donated to our senior youth for their annual Baptist Youth of Southern Africa Summer Camp in Kimberley.
More than 20 bays were sold and the church parking lot was a hub of activity, with all kinds of things for sale. People were “window-shopping”, bargaining, buying, chatting and having a good time. Many people, including some of the visitors, have already indicated their excitement about returning for the next car boot sale.
